CRITICWEB
How well do you know your favorite artist's catalog? Match each music fact to the artist who lived it. Build the whole web β no second guesses.
Match every thread.
Read
Six facts. Some about chart history. Some about side projects. Some about the weird year they took off.
Connect
Drag each fact onto the artist who owns it. Wrong matches lock β pick wisely.
Web it
Build the full web for max points. Smaller webs still streak the day.
How Criticweb works.
Criticweb is a daily music connection puzzle. Artists sit on the left, music facts on the right (samples, producers, Grammy wins, eras, collaborators, label runs). You draw the lines that match.
The rules
- Each daily web has a fixed number of artists and a matching number of facts.
- Tap an artist, then tap a fact β that draws a connection.
- Correct connections lock in green; incorrect ones bounce and cost a mistake.
- You have a limited mistake budget per daily round (typically 3β4).
- The web is solved when every correct line is drawn.
How points work
Solve faster, with fewer mistakes, and your score is higher. Burning the mistake budget without finishing ends the round and locks in your partial score. There is no time pressure beyond the daily reset.
A worked round
The day's artists are Madlib, J Dilla, Pete Rock, and DJ Premier. The facts include "Produced for MF DOOM under the alias Madvillain", "Produced 'The Light' by Common", "Produced 'They Reminisce Over You'", and "Produced for Gang Starr". You draw Madlib β Madvillain (correct), J Dilla β 'The Light' (correct), DJ Premier β Gang Starr (correct), Pete Rock β 'They Reminisce' (correct). Solved in four moves with zero mistakes.
Where the facts come from
Facts are sourced from a combination of public production credits, label history, and editorial Criticscale research. Edge cases (co-producers, ghost producers, aliases) are flagged in the fact text. Disputes go to support@criticscale.com.
